A new look for buying bitcoin: introducing redesigned Aureo
Meet Aureo’s redesigned Buy Bitcoin flow, with a smarter address manager, clearer SPEI instructions, higher limits, and faster purchases.

When we launched Aureo in March, we set out to build the fastest and easiest way to buy bitcoin in Mexico with SPEI — directly to your wallet, and directly to your bank. Five months later, that mission hasn't changed. But the platform has.
Today we're announcing a full redesign of the Buy Bitcoin experience, along with a set of new features we've shipped since launch. It's the same Aureo underneath — no waiting, no unnecessary steps — just a cleaner, faster, and more flexible way to get bitcoin from your bank account to your wallet.

Designed with the community, tested with our users
This redesign didn't happen in a vacuum. The project was led by Tristan Borges, our CPO and lead designer, in collaboration with Jona Llamas, a bitcoin designer and front-end developer from Argentina. We had the pleasure of meeting Jona in Mexico City, where he joined us at La Casa de Satoshi to work on the new Buy Flow side by side.
From there, we ran heavy testing with our users and went through multiple rounds of feedback. What you see today is the result: a Buy Flow shaped by the people who actually use it.
What's new when you buy bitcoin
The biggest changes are in how you manage where your bitcoin goes. When we launched, you could only set a single address. Now you have a full address manager:
- Save multiple addresses in your account and choose one as your default.
- Use Lightning addresses or on-chain Bitcoin addresses — whichever fits your setup.
- Add temporary addresses — made for a single purchase, they disappear afterward and never stay saved in your address manager. Perfect for one-off payments or extra privacy.
- Scan QR codes instead of pasting, and label every address so you always know where your sats are headed.
Step by step
Step 1 — Choose where to receive
Pick a saved wallet, or add a new Lightning or on-chain address in seconds.
Step 2 — Enter the amount
Type how many pesos you want to convert and see instantly how much BTC you'll get.
Step 3 — Review before you confirm
Fee, exchange rate, and the exact amount of Bitcoin you'll receive, all before you send anything.
Step 4 — Send your SPEI
Clear transfer instructions from your bank, easy to follow or share.
Step 5 — Your bitcoin is on its way
Once we confirm your payment, the purchase queues and lands in your wallet within minutes.
The flow itself got smarter too. When you enter an amount, you'll see your monthly limit right there in context. You get a clean preview page before you commit, and your SPEI instructions are now clearer and easy to share with someone else.
And we've doubled your room to operate: automated trades now go up to 200,000 pesos, up from 100,000 at launch. Send your SPEI transfer and receive your bitcoin within minutes, automatically. For anything larger, our OTC desk has you covered.
Direct to Wallet, Direct to Bank
The redesign also puts Aureo's core idea front and center: an invisible connection between your bitcoin wallet and your bank account.
With Direct to Wallet, you send a SPEI bank transfer and receive bitcoin at your saved address — no login required. If you've set a temporary address, you'll see it flagged with a clear warning, so you never accidentally send multiple payments to a one-time address.
With Direct to Bank, your Aureo account comes with its own Lightning address. Any bitcoin that arrives there is automatically converted and sent to the bank account you've saved. Send bitcoin, receive pesos — without opening the app.
Once you set it up, you don't have to log into Aureo ever again. Just use your bank app to buy, or your wallet to sell. That's the magic behind Aureo.
Everything else we've shipped since March
The Buy Flow is the headline, but it's not the whole story. Since launch, Aureo has added:
- Trade history and account statements — filter by date and operation type, download as CSV or PDF.
- Account stats — your average buy price, sell price, and every number you need to track your position.
- Passkeys — a faster, more secure way to protect your account.
- Dark theme, a fully Spanish-language platform, and our affiliate program.
- Human support in minutes — tap the help icon anytime, or browse our help articles.
This is just the beginning
We launched in March. It's August, and the platform already looks and works better than ever. In the coming weeks, expect much more from us.
